Pork producers in the U.S. now face economic hardships so serious that many producers will leave the business. We as swine specialists at the University of Illinois cannot change the very difficult conditions, but we offer the information on this site to help producers manage their business during these tough times. Each of seven swine specialists offers 3 recommendations carefully chosen to be useful to producers in these tough times, and we present these recommendations in the lectures presented here. We encourage you to look and listen.
We welcome your questions and comments. They don't have to relate to the suggestions covered herein, but can be anything about pork production. Click on the email address of the appropriate specialist; if you don't know who is most appropriate, send it to Dr. Pettigrew. We'll be sure you get a response.
